Your transport options around Koh Samui are much the same as anywhere else: by car, by bike, public transport or on foot. The Samui twist? Every option has local character.

On foot. The house’s Samui/Choeng Mon Beach location means just a 10-minute walk to both beach and town.
By car. Two ways to go about it…
- Renting a Samui hire car is a brilliant way to tour the island. Rent a car for your whole trip for maximum flexibility, or just a day or two to make a grand island adventure, visiting Koh Samui attractions of your choosing.
- Taxis are all over – a good way to get to dinner at a restaurant on another beach. Set a rate in advance as, despite appearances, meters are not used.
Songthaew (“song-tao”). A public pick-up truck on a vaguely set route. Hop on & off these trucks as they circle the island ring road. Agree on the price first. When you want to get off, ring the bell inside.

Scooter and motorbike. Though popular with locals and tourists alike, scooters are a main contributor to Samui’s road accident rate. If you must, be sure to wear a helmet. (Promise?)
